Malankara Catholic Children’s League (MCCL), the Children’s Association of the Malankara Catholic Church, from Sakinaka Unit, Mumbai has come forward with a support of Rs. 10,000/- to “Prachodana”, the Social Service Society of MCC-ETRI. ‘Prachodana’ is actively involved in the ‘Food for the Hungry’, a social & charitable programme being undertaken for the last two years, targeting the less privileged in the society without discrimination of caste, creed, community, religion, gender, etc.
Through this programme, PRACHODANA is able to provide hundreds of food (one square meal) packets per day to those who are suffering from starvation and are finding it difficult to fill their empty stomachs, mostly wanderers at streets, patients in hospitals, inmates in orphanages, rehabilitation centres, old-age homes, slums or otherwise. This charity service has been taken-up by ‘Prachodana’ involving common people, under the leadership and greater participation of Malankara Catholic parishes in and around National Capital region.
The initiative taken by our children (MCCL) in Sakinaka Unit to collect the money to support this charitable endeavour is very appreciative. |
